Melding Mozart, math and memory!

Melding Mozart, math and memory!

Year 7 and 8 were introduced to a new teacher and test - well, for a brief period.

On Thursday 18th August, Casey Osborne organised an experiment with Mr Bloxham's Year 7 and 8 class. The experiment was to assess the difference of memory retention with one session listening to Mozart for 10 minutes and one session not listening to it.

The class started off by listening to Mozart for 10 minutes and then Casey showed a series of 10 cards on the whiteboard. These cards had an increasing amount of letters on them and these were shown for 3 seconds each. The students had to show their retention of these letters by writing these down.

Casey is in the process of sorting through the lists and getting the results for the experiment. Results will be published shortly and it will be interesting to see if Mozart comes out on top.
