Families open their homes willingly to international students, our community is known for the warm hospitality extended to our tourists and new community members. The wellness and safety of our students are of utmost importance. At The Catlins Area School, we know that the homestay experience is essential to the success of our international students settling in and enjoying their New Zealand life, so we take special care and consideration when placing students and do our best to deal with any matters if they arise.
International students usually remain in contact with their homestay families for years to come, often revisiting the school, community and families in years to come.
