Prime community show up for Prime Lamb Competition!

Home & School held the 16th annual Prime Lamb fundraiser.

2023 marks the 16th year that Prime Lamb Competition has been run by TCAS Home and School. With the challenges of the pandemic last year behind them, the committee welcomed back farmers, sponsors, donators and the community to the event.

Parents and friends of the school collected donated lambs from around the district in the morning, dropping them off periodically to Phil Sellars and Maree Falconer's yards.  The 51 donated lambs were then weighed, drafted, crutched and collected in pens for judging. We appreciated the judges Scott Young, Neville Gordon, Tom Fraser and Andy Keen helping again this year, for the hard task of deciding the winners. With a quick turn around, the lambs were loaded and sent off all before 3.30pm.

The Catlins Area School Home and School Committee again feel humbled for the generous support of the community. As a committee we would like to thank the judges Scott, Neville, Andy and Tom. Phil and Maree for the use of their yards and woolshed, our lamb collectors; Hamish McDougall, Rachel and Craig Napier, Nick Parkes, Sam Landreth, Ben Harrex, Nathan Wilson and Phil Bradfield. Our generous sponsors, students Jethro, Kotaro, Shosei and Braydee who helped on the day and to our many local businesses, parents, caregivers and TCAS staff for their support of this year's competition.
