What a Performance!

What a Performance!

A 60 strong group headed to Murihiku to perform at Polyfest, and they didn't hold back!

On Monday 22nd August, our 60 strong Kapahaka students travelled to Invercargill to perform in their first Murihiku Polyfest! We were supported by Heni Landreth and Colleen Hoskins on guitar, Mrs Bichan, Ms McLaughlin, Mario Leoni and Mrs Cairns. We were also thankful for our awesome whānau supporters; Amy Bradfield, Adele Dawkins and Kerri Nakajima. Our students performed four waiata; Owaka e, Toia, He Honore, Utaina.

The students' performance was tumeke (awesome) and they received a haka tautoko (supportive haka) from the rangatira/organisers/supporters of Miharo Murihiku; this is a real privilege and shows how our incredible students were.

You can watch their performance here on vimeo courtesy of Miharo Murihiku. (From the time 3.33 onwards.) Photo credit also to Miharo Murihiku.

Thank you to Miharo Murihiku for welcoming us and we can't wait to return in 2023!
