Accessing area all in five centermeters

Measurement Unit has progressed from estimating to area.

As part of their Measurement Unit in Room 3 with Mrs Parker, ākonga have been learning about about area.  They are learning about the area of a square cm and what it might look like if they were to draw shapes that are 5cm in area.

These shapes are called pentonimoes and believe it or not there are twelve ways to show an area of 5cm squared.  Could you draw them all?

The akonga have been very creative in their work but joining by sides and not corners has been the most challenging!
